2001 to 2002 season
Welcome back, friends. I have so much to tell you about SOLI's eighth season, so I'm glad we've started a newsletter for the rest of the year.
The biggest noise of the season is that we have a brand-new work for you by world-renowned American composer Ned Rorem. The wonderful Nine Episodes for Four Players was written for SOLI as a part of a co-commissioning project we began this past season with the Eberli Ensemble in New York City. By pooling funds, we plan to commission a new work every season. Thanks to the generous support of so many of you, we have almost completely met our goal of $4,000 for Nine Episodes. Help us start this season right by making a special contribution to our Commissioning Project Fund.
We are all amazed at how quickly our tenth year is approaching. We decided that a fitting way to commemorate that anniversary would be to put together a recording of the works we have commissioned over the years. Be on the lookout...
Also, we recently received a generous grant from the Genevieve McDavitt Orsinger Foundation that will allow us to bring a couple of our concerts to audiences at University of Texas at San Antonio, and to perform a number of children's concerts throughout the season. Call us for information.

SOLI's UTSA performances are made possible in part by a generous grant from the Genevieve McDavitt Orsinger Foundation.
Tickets for all performances are $10. Ten minutes prior to every performance, remaining seats will be made available to college students with a current ID. for $5. Admission is $5 for students kindergarten through high school, and free to Trinity University and UTSA students with a current ID.
